France Business Guide Launched to Boost Investment in Kenya

Business France East Africa in collaboration with the French Chamber of Commerce in Kenya have launched the Doing Business in Kenya Guide,2026 a key resource aimed at helping French investors better understand opportunities in the Kenyan market.

Speaking during the launch in Nairobi the Principal Secretary for Trade, Regina Ombam welcomed the initiative as an important tool to support French businesses seeking to establish and expand operations in Kenya.

PS Ombam noted that the guide will help investors better understand Kenya’s market opportunities and investment landscape, describing it as a strong vote of confidence in Kenya’s position as a regional business hub.

She reaffirmed the government’s commitment to creating an enabling environment that supports and attracts investors, adding that Kenya remains open to partnerships that promote trade, investment and economic growth.

The Ambassador of France to Kenya, Arnaud Suquet, said Kenya and France share long-standing bilateral relations that have strengthened trade and investment between the two countries.

He noted that France is currently the fifth-largest provider of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Kenya, supporting approximately 46,000 direct jobs.

According to the ambassador, the newly launched guide will equip French investors with practical tools to better understand and navigate the Kenyan business ecosystem.

Bilateral trade between Kenya and France remains strong and balanced, with total trade surpassing USD 300 million, reflecting steady growth in economic relations.

Kenya’s main exports to France include agricultural products such as vegetables, fruits, cut flowers, coffee, tea and spices, while France exports pharmaceuticals, chemicals, cosmetics and machinery to Kenya.
